it would be kinda cool being able to use em outside but kinda stupid when the skill animations don't match the movements of the monsters.

evertonics in HoM sounds like a wtfhorrible idea, I mean seriously, what the f*** is that for?
You spent too much money on them and want them to go up in price? Or you want to buy a lot of cheap "dedicated" ones?
Seriously that idea sucks.

There are serious technical problems with using tonics outside towns. Most tonics imitate monster models, which don't necessarily have all the same animations that a human does. Imagine a wraith or skeletonic holding an item spell. Similar issues held Anet up from getting the norn skills to look right- originally they were supposed to transform your appearance into a bear, wolf, etc.
Note that the tonics that do work outside of towns- candy corn, elf- are based on player models. (female necro and male mesmer, respectively.)

I agree with DoomFrost.
Having special abilities would make the richer players more wanted in teams.
Not counting that it will be against the gw philosophy, with the initial suggestion if you have a rich character, that character is more powerful than average characters.
(And average characters couldn't get a "collectors" tonic with a crappy skin but max stats, as it is possible for weapons and armors)

If they cost alot from other players, how is giving them benefits to ability going to help?
